Ever heard of the dancing plague of 1518?
It is a well documented incident of dancing mania that occured in Strasbourg, Alsace (France today) between July & September of 1518.
On a random summers day a lady called Frau Troffea kicked of the mania by dancing on her own for a week in the centre of town. By the end of the mania between 50-400 other people had joined her and it is said that many individuals collapsed from exhaustion and some even died!
@yoreexplorers reminds me of that goat story recently, where they were just walking in circles for days and no one knows why.
@MtreeB ooh I haven’t heard of that - will have a read! Thank you!
@MtreeB how strange! Yes definitely has similarities to the dancing plague especially when it is considered in the context of flock mentality! Very interesting!
