Okay, I tried four different Sugar / Trisquel Live System.
- Fedora SoaS
Languague settings broken, Modem Settings broken
- Triquel-Sugar
English only, can't find how to install more languages
- Trisquel-Mini
Just a live system without any functionality related to Sugar
- Triskel
Equally lacking any Sugar-related functionality
Seems Good this thing.
@blindcoder only #Trisquel Sugar have Sugar packages out of the box.
Any other Trisquel flavor is to meet "regular" (what ever that means) user needs, a Mate, KDE or LXDE environment.
The Trisquel repo has the packages available via apt, but I would go and install them using the Sugar environment meant for it.
@ark74 Oooh, that makes sense then, thank you!
After a bit of back and forth I have now found that you can run a terminal from sugar and install locales there. That'll be what I'm going with!
@blindcoder great!, let me know your findings, I'm kind of interested in the Trisquel improvement
@ark74 Long story short, I used Mint with Sugarizer.
The installer lacks upower and fails to start on my laptop, the rtl8723 won't work ootb, and even with firmware added I couldnt make a WiFi connection from inside of Sugar.
@blindcoder Yeah, I'm catching up with the following messages.
I'll take a look on the installer, I didn't get any issue when testing it, don't know why.
On the firmware side, well not much I can do.
Regards!
