After wondering why the screen reader wasn't working with Flatpak versions of Chromium and GNOME Web, I figured I should document this somewhere

axel.leroy.sh/blog/how-to-fix-

A disassembled pair of headphones surrounded by electronics repair tools.
./axel.leroy.sh · My screen reader did not work with Chromium and GNOME Web Flatpaks, here's how I fixed it
More from Axel Leroy

@axeleroy In the latest versions of Flatpak this should be working correctly, at least with GNOME Web, without the sandbox escape. Thanks to work done by Georges Stavracas of @igalia, funded by STF

What versions of flatpak, xdg-dbus-proxy, and Orca are you running?

Axel Leroy

@AdrianVovk Flatpak is 1.16.0, xdg-dbus-proxy is 0.1.6 and Orca is 47.3

@axeleroy Could you join matrix.to/#/!OSCNqOdfxVpHNENmu, and ping @feaneron in there?

I just confirmed with him that, at least with GNOME Web, everything should be working without the static permission override. So perhaps you're running into some unknown bug
